ITU-Punjab Launches BS Program in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering

ITU-Lahore-PunjabThe Information Technology University of the Punjab (ITU-Punjab) held a successful Information session on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Arfa Software Technology Park. Aspiring students gathered in large numbers to inquire about the undergraduate programs being launched by the ITU in the fields of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering as well as its existing graduate program in Computer Science.

ITU-Punjab’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. Umar Saif was among the prominent speakers who addressed the attendees during the event. Highlighting the vision and mission of the university he said, “ITU aims to implement a unique teaching methodology and cross-disciplinary research that is grounded in solving real-world problem.”

Faculty members Mr. Zia Imran and Mr. Zubair Nabi also gave presentations to the prospective students. They emphasized ITU’s focus on infusing an entrepreneurial spirit in its students as well as encapsulating a modern design-centred and project-oriented approach to education geared towards producing a new generation of IT workers.

An information desk was set up, by the admissions staff, at the event to answer queries regarding the admissions process, fee structure and scholarship options available to students. ITU will be offering four-year Bachelors (BS) degrees in the fields of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering and a two-year MS degree in Computer Science.

  • Too much expensive…75000/- is the only tuition fee per semester and after adding other expenses like registration, exam, books and other fee, it would be 1 lac per semester.
So total cost of BS program is 8 lac.
    Lakh lanat hai

  • Very expensive. Lahore’s most expensive universities are LUMS and UMT.

LUMS BS Computer Science: Rs. 2,000,000
UMT BS Computer Science: Rs. 800,000

So considering the total fees of LUMS and UMT, The only benefit of ITU-Punjab will be the degree you’re getting is from a Government institution.
