Huawei Adds Ascend Y530 to its Budget Smartphone Lineup in Pakistan

Huawei has added another smartphone Ascend Y530 to its budget Y-smartphone series in Pakistan.

Ascend Y530 (Single SIM) is priced at Rs. 15,000 and is currently available in black color with one year warranty of Airlink Communication across Pakistan.

Ascend Y530 takes some of its design inspiration from its predecessors namely the Y300 & G510, introduced last year. The body is entirely made of plastic but it doesn’t feel cheap, rather it is very durable and gives a premium look.

The phone features a 4.5-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 480×854 pixels (218ppi). It packs a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB internal memory. There is also a microSD card slot which takes a card up to 32GB.

The phone has a primary 5-megapixel camera with single LED flash and a secondary 0.3-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.

Just like all budget devices from Huawei, Y530 is packed with a removable 1750mAh battery, which is good enough for a single day use for most of the users.

Ascend Y530 packs almost the same hardware as its predecessors introduced last year but this device runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Huawei EMUI 2.0 on top of it. So you may expect some improvement in the performance.

I am afraid that like previous budget devices from Huawei this phone will never get Android 4.4 KitKat officially but there are many hacks and custom ROMs available for the purpose.

Huawei Ascend Y530 boosts some decent hardware and the build quality is also good, but we think that it is a little overpriced. Add up Rs. 5,000 and you can get Ascend G610, which has double the specs and has Dual-SIM capability.

Do share your opinion about this smartphone and do you think its price tag is justified?
