Easypaisa Partners With Bookme.pk For Online Movie and Bus Ticket Purchases

With the goal of establishing a convenient and efficient E-Ticketing System in Pakistan, Bookme.pk launched Pakistan’s first online ticket booking portal in 2014 that supports major transport services and cinema theatres.

Bookme.pk was designed to save all that hassle and provide convenience to the customer by introducing the online booking of a cinema or bus ticket in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. Tickets could be booked through a website as well as a user-friendly app that allowed people to browse for upcoming movies, check show times, and book their movie tickets, or review bus schedules, and book seats.

To facilitate the payments for these tickets as well, Easypaisa has partnered with Bookme.pk to integrate their Easypay Online Payments with Bookme.pk. Now customers can both book and pay for tickets online as well, providing additional value and convenience to customers. Today, anybody can make a ticket booking on Bookme.pk and then make the payment at any of the 70,000 Easypaisa shops across 800 cities in Pakistan. These Easypaisa shops are often open till late night and even on weekends, hence providing a lot of convenience to the customer.

In addition, if the customer has an Easypaisa Mobile Account, they can make the payment directly at the time of booking from their Mobile Account instantly. There are no additional charges on making a payment at an Easypaisa shop or from the Easypaisa Mobile Account. To further facilitate customers to try this new way of payments, Easypay is also offering a limited time discount on all Movie and Bus tickets purchased through Bookme.pk.

Expressing his view regarding this partnership, Yahya Khan, Chief Financial Services Officer, at Telenor Pakistan said:

Bringing Bookme.pk to the Easypaisa platform means providing more convenience to both Bookme.pk customers as well as Easypaisa customers. We are always looking to facilitate the financial needs of our customers through innovative services like Easypay Online Payments. Bringing easy Movie and Bus booking and payments to more people represents another step in our mission for customer empowerment.

  • Good initiative, and a sense of security of passenger travelling by bus. Suggest the Regional Transport Authority RTA transport regulatory authority should endorse this service. As most commuter bus, coach, never ever issue ticket. RTA has to make sure they should recieve paymenet by EP so there’s a proof of payment even though the physical ticket is not issued. Hence under transport law the bus/coach passenger will recieve compensation in case of injury, accident to the passenger for treatment. The bus should stop at the stop for women, children, ageing people cannot embark/dis-embark a bus. EP payment provides a vehicle/tool to the RTA to facilitate passengers rights, and enforce the legitimacy of the regulatory authority. Their revenues will be documented and they will pay tax, put a fire extinguisher, and emergency first aid things. Bus maintenance, eliminate use of pressure horns, over speeding, maintenance of the bus/coach etc., etc., are the areas where EP can excercise control on Karachi transport. They will pay by EP for the journey with the time of the journey to start and from the stop. Discipline, punctuality, safety, security are all passenger facilitation, a bus operator should know his obligations. He cannot overcharge, and cannot take passenger for free.

  • Yes, rail operated by private contractors, or Pakistan Railways should also start accepting payment online on EP. This will help them do their work better.
