AmanClinics Competition for Healthcare Startups Offers $200k in Funding

In a region where proper healthcare can only be afforded by the affluent, with limited options for the poor, healthcare startups can serve as a paradigm shift towards more affordable and equitable healthcare services. However, the progress of such startups depends on the amount of funding available, which is why they have The Aman Foundation’s new program is exactly what is needed for healthcare startups

Presenting AmanClinics Accelerator Competition

The primary objective of the AmanClinics Accelerator competition is to build low-cost clinics scattered across urban cities across the country. The non-profit organization is aiming to encourage Pakistani entrepreneurs who want to tackle issues related to the lack of healthcare facilities countrywide. They want to help entrepreneurs in setting up facilities that not only require less amount of overheads to function effectively, but can also provide top-tier healthcare services to all citizens of Pakistan.

AmanClinics Accelerator is offering three cash prizes for the competitors, as listed below:

  • 1st place prize: PKR 500,000 plus $200,000 of seed capital
  • 2nd place prize: PKR 200,000
  • 3rd place prize: PKR 100,000

The $200,000 seed funding will be offered to a Management Team of choice by the Aman Foundation. The Management team will be offered contractual employment and sweat-equity shares.

Your business idea will have to keep in mind of the target market as well, which is aimed at individuals or families who have a daily income of $5.

What Is The Eligibility Criteria And How You Can Apply?

Since the competition calls for a team, it must consist of at least 3-5 team members. Additionally, you will be required to show proof that you are enrolled in a University seeking a Bachelor’s degree at a bare minimum.

So how exactly can you apply for the competition? You can visit the official Aman Clinics’ website and click on ‘Apply Now’.

The last date to apply is 31st of January, 2016. After you have submitted your application, you will be required to submit a two-page summary of the innovative business idea you have in mind. The summary must be submitted by no later than Saturday, the 13th of February 2016, midnight.

The AmanClinics Review team will be reviewing these applications, with a final shortlist comprising a total of 10 teams. These shortlisted teams will then be assigned mentors to provide feedback and guidance to the startups in order to prepare their final business plan.
