Vote for These Pakistani Startups Shortlisted at GIST NET Global Competition

The U. S. Department of State’s Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST) initiative is open for young entrepreneurs from all around the world. The goal of the program is to empower young innovators through networking, skills building, mentoring, and access to financing so that the world’s economic and developmental challenges can be addressed by startups.

About GIST Net

The GIST initiative, established in 2011, invites science and technology innovators and entrepreneurs in 135 emerging economies around the world, and help them make their startup idea successful. By providing training and resources through way of competitions, startup boot camps, and interactive online programs, implemented by VentureWell and AAAS.

Pakistani Startups Make a Splash at this Year’s GIST Event

Pakistani startups are increasingly proving that they can compete with the best of the best, and this year’s GIST competition is giving them a chance to prove just that.

Out of the total 321 participating startups from all around the world, these 4 Pakistani entrepreneurs and their startups have also made it to the competition:

  1. Umer Adnan – Cowlar, The Fitbit for Cows (Agriculture)
  2. Saima Hanif – Carespare tool (Idea)
  3. Zeeshan Yousaf – Quality Healthcare for the Underprivileged (Health Care)
  4. Waqas Muhammad – WonderTree (Startup)

Vote for Them at GIST Net Competition

Winners will be adjudged by votes and other criteria as set by the event organizers.

  2. Go to the list of participating startups here.
  3. Select ‘Pakistan’ if you wish to vote for local startups.
  4. Click the VOTE button.

These startups have been shortlisted for GES at Silicon Valley’s GIST Competition in the US this year.
