Careem Joins Hands with TEVTA to Create 100,000 Jobs

Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) in collaboration with CAREEM Networks will train and provide jobs to one lac unemployed youth in transport sector during 3 years.

This collaboration will promote constructive change in the traffic culture of Pakistan and will meet the increasing demand of skilled drivers in the market.  In this regard, an MoU was signed between TEVTA and CAREEM here yesterday(Thursday) at TEVTA Secretariat which was signed by Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh and Chief Executive Officer CAREEM Networks Pakistan Junaid Iqbal.  Chief Operating Officer TEVTA Jawad Ahmed Qureshi, TEVTA Officers & CAREEM team was present at the occasion.

Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh while addressing the participants of MoU ceremony said that at present, TEVTA is signing MoUs with different national and multi-national organizations to introduce demand driven short courses.  TEVTA will immediately train 3000 to 5000 drivers including soft skills, road safety and basic Arabic Language.  Admission for this course will be a joint responsibility of TEVTA and CAREEM.  Both organizations will design curricula to train the youth in this field.  This course will be started in TEVTA Institute

Chief Executive Officer CAREEM Junaid Iqbal in his address said that Careem, the fastest growing app based Car booking platform has joined hands with TEVTA to meet the increasing demand of skilled drivers in the local & international market.

Our organization will help the successful graduates to arrange job opportunities to the trained manpower at salary range from Rs.22,000 to 25,000 per month.  In future, CAREEM shall be utilizing these trained drivers for employment opportunities in Pakistan and Middle-East region.  He further said that our company is totally Pakistani based company and at present 85% drivers (captain) are Pakistani citizens in Gulf Region.

 


  • I do not think, that new jobs will be created, because no. of passengers who travel via taxies will remain same. First drivers were working for their own, now they will work for careem.
