On 16th October, the 36th edition of the Gitex Technology Week, the largest ICT exhibition in Middle East, Africa and South Asia kicked off.
In this mega event, the owner of ALJVD Photography Studio, Altamash Javed, a Dubai-based investor from Pakistan showcased his work upon the request of Instagram.
Talking exclusively to ProPakistani, the 31-year old revealed that, “Instagram approached me to include some of my shots for their presentation during Gitex. Of course it’s an honor and I was happy to see my work on the big screen.”
He has done his BBA in Finance from American University in Dubai. However he is currently interested in exploring the opportunities that photography offers him.
“Photography is one of the things I do and love most. Other than that, I’m an entrepreneur.”

The five-day event is taking place in Dubai at Dubai World Trade Centre, inaugurated by by none other than Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. The event has a theme of “Reimagining Realities”, which will help redefine the importance of technology in businesses.
It is reported that over 200 investors and tech investment executives, fromSilicon Valley, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, including SoftBank Group International, 500 Startups, Accel Partners, Golden Gate Ventures and Middle East Venture Partners, are present at the mega event.
Around 10,000 visitors from over 150 countries are expected to take part in the event along with 4,000 exhibiting companies and 230 speakers.
