Oppo’s successors to the original Oppo R9 are finally here. These new phones come with sleek metal designs and 16 MP front and back cameras. They also share quite a lot with each other.
The regular R9s comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, with 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5. It is 6.58mm thick and has a bezel of only 1.66mm.
Under the hood, you’ll get a Snapdragon 625 chip with Adreno 506 GPU, accompanied by 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of expandable storage. The camera on the back and front are of 16 MP, with the former coming with a faster autofocus, electronic image stabilization, and f/1.7.
Battery capacity is set at 3010 mAh, with fast-charging also supported. The phone runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Oppo’s customized skin. It also has a fingerprint scanner on the front.
The larger sibling comes with a bigger 6-inch 1080p display with almost 80% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 653, and is accompanied by 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage.
The camera is the same but adds OIS and dual-LED Flash. Battery is also larger at 4000 mAh. The antenna lines have been struck in three, which gives it a better look as well as a metal proportion of 98.8-percent in the overall design.
Pricing and availability details are both not known as of yet.
