Pakistan Now Has the Largest Brass Mill in South Asia

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Monday inaugurated the upgradation of brass mill at Pakistan Ordinance Factory (POF) making it largest of its kind in South Asia.

After up-gradation, the production capacity of the factory has been enhanced from eight thousand metric tons to twenty-four thousand metric tons.

In the wake of its recent upgradation, Wah Brass is now reckoned to be a major name in brass producing industry of South Asia.

Wah Brass is equipped with state-of the art technology and facilities to set new quality benchmark for brass products.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also witnessed the brass making in factory. He was briefed by the officials about processing, technology and quality of product being produced in Wah Brass.

Prime Minister hoped that the team of Wah Brass will continue its efforts and play a vital role in the economic augmentation of Pakistan.

On the occasion, the Prime minister announced 25 percent allowance and 2 annual increments for the staff of POF.

Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain and Interior Minister Ch Nisar Ali Khan were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Chairman Pakistan Ordnance Factories Lt General Umar Mehmood Hayat welcomed Prime Minister on his arrival.

 


  • I hope the civilian side shows half as much competency as the military side and can at least self manage the steel mill and not privatize it as we can only dream of them leading the way in terms of innovation and growth.
    The day the civilians become as competent and professional as the military such as in Germany or Japan, Pakistan will become a superpower in its own right.
