Higher Education Commission (HEC) has stopped 4 universities from accepting admissions. These universities are located across multiple cities in Pakistan.
The four varsities in question are:
- Al-Khair University, Azad Jammu & Kashmir
- Global Institute, Lahore
- Imperial College of Business Studies, Lahore
- Preston Institute of Management Sciences and Technology (PIMSAT), Karachi
An official notification was issued by the Director General of HEC on social media, announcing the suspension. Students are advised to avoid these universities and look for alternatives.
Degrees Will Not Be Recognized
The notification reads:
The Higher Education Commission advises students not to seek admission in the above mentioned institutions or institutes claiming to be associated with them as admissions in these institutes and their affiliates are suspended due to irregularities and mismanagement discovered in their operations.
Degrees from these universities/institutes and their affiliated branches or campuses will not be recognized by the HEC. To check which universities are officially recognized by the commission head to hec.gov.pk/site/HEIs.
NTC Scrapped For Undergraduate Tests
Recently HEC ended the NTC testing scheme for universities in order to revamp the whole process. A new government body was established. Called the “Education Testing Council” it announced a new Undergraduate Entry Test test for students seeking admissions after their 2nd year exams.

Dates for the test were announced at the start of July. Last date for applications was 12th July which was subsequently changed to 17th July to accommodate more admissions.

What about students who have completed and were given degrees many years back . Would they be eligible ?
Well I don’t have a clue about it and that is what scraping my nerves but if if God forbid that happens I m really sorry for those peeps seriously it will be life ruinning
all the pimsat university degrees are now rejected though they were recognized by HEC earlier, a petition against the uni by 400 students is going on in LHC

What about the students who already passed Alkhair and Priston exam few years ago are they eligable for their degree and HEC would attest them if not where they were that time now they are playing with genration future
Alkhair sab ko ly doba in fact HEC ko apny kiye huy attested degree ko revised ya reject nhi krna chahye tha . which means HEC khud blind institute ha jo kisi b degree ko attested kar skta ha ab hosh aya inko when they had attested about more than 1 lakh degrees of these uni
