Its also about celebrating our rich and diverse cultural and historical tapestry, to immortalize the past in one frame. And what better way to celebrate the best of photography than with architectural photography.
Architectural photography, like the many other forms of photography, continues to be massively popular. Some of the world’s photographers tour the best architectural wonders, hoping to capture the splendor, history, aesthetic and essence of a place in one brief moment.
To celebrate some of the best architectures in the country, Serena Hotels is organizing a photography competition ‘Be the Next Serena Photographer’ next week in Islamabad, bringing in the best talent in the country under one roof, and their best work.
So get that DSLR out, and bring your A-game!
An Architectural Photography Competition
Photography is an art form, and only a few can make use of this visual medium in such groundbreaking ways that people will continue to talk about your captures for quite some time, long after you’ve seized that one moment within the confines of your snapshot.
‘Be the Next Serena Photographer’ competition invites you to showcase your work in front of the who’s who of Pakistan’s photography crowd. The competition is open to both pros and amateur photographers.
The competition hopes to attract 12 photographers who will be stationed at any of the eight Serena Hotel properties in Pakistan. These 12 shortlisted photographers will take a photo-shoot at these destinations, helping them build up their portfolio and win the competition.

Competition Details
Shortlisted contestants will be given an opportunity to shoot the best architectural photos at Serena Hotel’s properties across Pakistan.
- No entry fee required.
- DSLR cameras to be used only.
- Entrants must be 18 and above.
- 12 photographers will be shortlisted for the competition
- 06 architectural photos need to be submitted.
- Photos to be uploaded online with all the other required details.
- Employees of Serena Hotels and their immediate family members are not eligible.

The jury includes:
​​Syed Mehdi Bukhari
Syed Mehdi Bukhari is an internationally acclaimed nature and landscape photographer. He is an executive member of Photographic Arts Society of Pakistan (PSAP) and a faculty member of University of Lahore’s creative art department. He also regularly writes travelogues for Dawn.
Mobeen Ansari
Mobeen Ansari, an NCA graduate has quickly made his mark in the world of photography and is a painter, sculptor and photojournalist. He has been selected by Hello magazine as one of Pakistan’s top 100 talents. He is also a regular in the judging panels of photography competitions.
​Wajahat Malik
Wajahat Malik is a popular television presenter and a documentary filmmaker. For more than ten years, he has been producing, presenting and directing adventure and travel films for Pakistani and foreign channels.
