From Quetta to Amazon: The Tale of Telecom Engineer Husnain Taseer

Meet Husnain Taseer.

He hails from Quetta, Baluchistan. Husnain did his intermediate from F.G Degree College Quetta in 2008. Soon after his intermediate exams, the college management recommended that he apply at the National ICT R&D Fund (now renamed as Ignite) for securing scholarship.

Husnain was one of the many people who applied for the scholarship and attended the training classes conducted by ICTR & DF qualified mentors. After his training classes, he appeared in an entry test and was able to secure admission at COMSATS Islamabad in Telecommunications Engineering.

After 4 years of hard work, he finally graduated from COMSATS Islamabad with a CGPA of 3.3/4.0. It was now time to start his professional life.

Starting his career as a Jr. VoIP Developer at NoveltySoft Technologies, he worked with dedication with his seniors to build the required skill set that was needed. His first job was where he learned a lot from his seniors. That experience proved to be a solid base for his entire career.

After NoveltySoft Technologies, he also worked for various well reputed organizations in Pakistan which included i2c inc. Lahore, Vopium A/S Lahore.

In 2015, Husnain received a job offer from an ISP based in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He accepted the offer and served as a Sr. VoIP System Developer in Etisalcom Bahrain for 2 years. His job was to manage their existing VoIP Services and also develop new services for them.

In 2016, he applied for a job in Amazon.com and after several online, telephonic and on-site interviews, Husnain ended up getting a job in AWS (Amazon Web Services, Leader in eCommerce & Managed Cloud Computing services). Right now he is working as Cloud Support Engineer (Deployments) at an Amazon Development Center in Cape Town, South Africa.

Husnain says he is thankful to anyone who has provided him an opportunity to get quality education. It is only because of them that he was able to find such success in his career.
