Get 25% Off Domestic Flights on PIA This Eid

Pakistan International Airline has slashed its fares by 25% on domestic flights for the first two days of Eid.

The discounts are being offered on flights to/from

  • Karachi,
  • Lahore,
  • Islamabad,
  • Peshawar,
  • Quetta,
  • Multan,
  • Faisalabad.

In case the passengers decide to reschedule their flights against the tickets they bought for their Eid Holidays, the discount will be withdrawn.

Profit to the Airline

The PIA spokesman Mashood Tajwar said on Tuesday that:

“There is usually a low rate of bookings on flights during Eid holidays. The offer (25% discount) would stimulate operations on the days.”

He said that this strategy would also avoid flight cancellations during the holiday. “This is a new niche market,” he added.

He was hopeful that even if the offer does not cause the airline a significant profit, it will definitely contribute to the airline’s revenue.

PIA aims to continue its progress

The increased ease for booking tickets has allowed more people to take short trips, taking into account how people used to plan trips very occasionally before. Initially people used to plan trips only when needed and tried to extend their trip in an effort to utilize ticket cost.

Tajwar said that the airline’s booking rate stays at around 73%. He said the airline aims to increase this rate to 75-76% by adding more international routes to its flights.

According to Tajwar, Pakistan’s aviation industry is making a rapid growth of 8-10% per annum which is double the growth rate of 3.4-4% across the world.

The company recovered its accumulated loss of Rs 282.20 billion by June 30.

He said that PIA sold one million additional tickets last year and hopes to exceed this amount in the current year.
