Huawei has announced the much awaited Mate 10 Lite phone in China, rebranding it as “Maimang 6” in its home market.
It features the Mate series mainstays like the humongous screen and dual cameras at just a fraction of its price.
The build is likely quite a premium one, coming with metal in three colors: Black, Gold and Blue. It weighs 164 grams and is 7.5 mm thick.

As evident from the image above, the Maimang 6 has dual cameras on the front and the back.
The display is also a large 5.9″ IPS panel, with a 2:1 aspect ratio of several recent flagships. It comes with a respectable 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ resolution.
Under the hood, you get Huawei’s own Kirin 659 processor with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of expandable storage. Connectivity needs are taken care of by Bluetooth, NFC, GPS and Wi-Fi, while the charging port is likely the USB-C standard. It is also dual SIM by default with a hybrid microSD/SIM card slot.
For the OS the Maimang 6 will have Android Nougat 7.0 with EMUI 5.1.
Featuring four cameras, the Maimang 6 has 16 MP + 2 MP shooters on the back with an LED flash, alongside a bunch of customizations including bokeh effect.
The front also boasts a 13 MP + 2 MP setup, which should support several effects of its own.
The battery capacity is set at 3340 mAh. We can expect it to support fast-charging but Huawei hasn’t said anything yet.
The phone will retail starting at the end of the month for $365. Worldwide availability should start soon afterwards.
