Huawei Mate 10 Lite Review
Huawei Mate 10 lite is one of the few midrangers in the market which has a tall, 18:9 ratio display. The bezels are clean and sleek, which gave it a clean look with no branding or logos on the front bezels. The feel and looks of the Mate 10 lite are pretty much premium and it does look a lot more expensive than its original price.
The 18:9 aspect ratio looks really impressive at first but you get used to it after using it for some time. The colors and saturation levels are somewhat accurate. The color temperature in the factory settings is a bit cold but it can easily be adjusted as required by the settings. Outdoor visibility, however, is not good enough because of the low maximum brightness of the display.
In Huawei Mate 10 lite the EMUI is designed well with a simplistic approach kept in mind. It does not have many customizations and features as other UIs in the market but that’s fine because many of the features remain unused and simply contribute to slowing down the device.
The Kirin 659 chipset is good enough in Huawei mate 10 lite to run the phone easily without no noticeable sluggishness. As expected, it won’t be able to deliver a flagship experience but most of the experience is relatively satisfactory. The GPU Mali T-830 MP2 isn’t capable of handling the FHD+ display which is why games will have lower frame rates.
Despite the dual-cam setup, only the main cameras take the picture, the secondary sensors are only 2MP which are basically used to sense the depth and distance to create background blur. Even then, the blur effect isn’t as good as how it is in other devices. Regular photos look fine and the cameras do great if it’s used for regular, non-professional photography. In Huawei Mate 10 lite the colors do get messed up in bright daylight and the HDR function just brightens up the image. A lot of noticeable noise is also present due to lack of an effective noise reduction mechanism.
