This is the World’s Biggest GameBoy!

Remember the video game console called “Game Boy” by Nintendo?

The very same Game boy you played Tetris on, but due to the grey-scale screen, you would first end up spending an ample amount of time trying to figure out the correct lighting for it.

Thankfully, Nintendo’s new video games are all colored up now. This new generation is all about video games. Playstations, Xbox and what not. Nobody would ever want to go back to the dull-lighted boring old Game Boy.

But not this one Belgian guy, he plays his cards differently. He takes “old school” to a whole new level.

The Gameboy: Supersized!

A Belgian student Ilhan Unal, brought his Triple A Game by inventing a Game Boy that would need a seat of its own whenever its being played on.

Yeah, you heard me, this new “old school” Game Boy would blow your mind, and its a complete definition of “Thinking out of the box”.

Here’s how it looks:

Clocking in at 101 cm tall, 62 cm wide and 20 cm deep, Ilhan’s oversized love for the classic machine means the 21-year-old holds the Guinness World Record for the Largest Game Boy in the world.

He designed it on his computer in a week but it took a month to build it all up. Good thing this gigantic thingamajig uses a normal Gameboy sized cartridge, you wouldn’t need a huge closet just to store a human-sized cartridge of Super Mario. Phew!

“The Game Boy made other people happy. It brought back their childhood. When I was a kid, that was what I wanted to do” says Ilhan.

His inspiration for this? “People who are able to bring smiles to other people’s faces are generally happier than other people.”

Albeit, the ginormous-buttons that are harder to press, you can get a pretty good advantage by getting a psychological edge over your opponent as it can be connected by cable to your amigo’s sane-sized Game Boy.

Congratulations to Ilhan Unal for making it to the Guinness Book of World Records. You really brought justice to the phrase,”Old is Gold.”
