Minster for Planning and Development and Interior, Ahsan Iqbal, has said that after successful launch of 3G and 4G technology in Pakistan, the government plans to test 5G services in the country soon.
Chairing a meeting on Digital Pakistan on Thursday evening, the minister said that this is a century of knowledge and innovations and only those nations are progressing well who have equipped themselves with weapons of knowledge and technology.
Under Vision 2025, the minister said that the government was endeavoring to achieve targets of progress in the fields of technology and human resource development in collaboration with the private sector.
The government is also establishing centers of excellence for artificial intelligence, cyber security, big data, cloud computing and robots, he added.
He said that digital Pakistan was aimed at equipping the young generation with modern technology to ensure its effective usage and added that with the provision of 3G and 4G, Pakistan has become the fourth largest freelancing country.
