Apni Sawaari App Makes Travelling Easy for Lahori Commuters

Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has a launched an application “Apni Sawaari” for the commuters using its services.

The application, termed “user-friendly” by the LTC, was developed in collaboration with Binary Vibes.

 

LTC Chairman, Mehr Ishtiaq, while speaking at the launch event of the application. said that the purpose of the app is to facilitate the common man, who spends a lot of time standing and waiting at the bus stops.

He said that this app will help them by providing a detailed bus route and allowing them to figure out the timings of the buses as well.

Additionally, certain particular routes can also be selected. People can also calculate the approximate bus fare, time of arrival of the bus and real-time tracking of the different routes the bus would be covering.

According to the LTC, the most exquisite feature of this application included multiple login options.

The app is currently in beta version though, so expect a few bugs and random crashes. Nonetheless, its a great step by the company.

This is not the first time the LTC has launched an application for the ease of the commuters.

In 2015, LTC launched an application called “Bus Da Pata” (Bus information) which was an application to help commuters check arrival and departure timings of the buses, fares of different routes, and route information.

In this modern world of information technology, companies like LTC are trying to stay relevant to compete against the likes of Careem and Uber.

Earlier this week, the Awami Rickshaw Union Lahore launched a similar appl called “Awami Sawari” which is a rickshaw-hailing app. The issues that these local companies face can’t just end with developing mobile applications, they have to focus on quality and especially the behavior of the drivers towards the customers.
