Often credited with reinvigorating the electric car trend, Tesla has revealed the world’s fastest production car ever made, according to Elon Musk.
Meet the new Tesla Roadster:
Tesla Roadster has the makings of a traditional super car inside out. From the outside it looks like something out of a sci-fi movie with sharp looking head and tail lights and the sleek lines on the sides and the front.
Even the interior looks like its from a car from the future with a unique looking steering wheel and the overall design aesthetic.
Another plus point is the fact that the Roadster is a 2×2 4 seater sedan, meaning you can go on a family trip or an outing with your friends (if you have the money to buy one).
According to Elon Musk, “this is just the base model” meaning there’s more to come. The Roadster manages to go from 0-100 kmh (0-60 mph) in just 1.9 seconds and 0-160 kmh (0-100 mph) in 4.2.
For the sake of comparison, Bugatti Chiron has a 0-100 kmh time of 2.4 seconds.
The Roadster manages a total torque of 10,000 Nm or 7,400 pounds/foot.
As for the top speed, it can go above 250 mph or more than 400 kmh, according to Musk, which is ridiculous to say the least. Not to mention that the Roadster is an all-electric car.
Koenigsegg Agera RS currently holds the world record for top speed, at 277.9 mph or around 450 kmh.
1000 KM range
It will come with a 250 kWh battery pack and will have a maximum range of 1000 kilometers (620 miles).
Price and Availability
Tesla Roadster will be available from 2020, at a price of $200,000. The first 1,000 Tesla Roadsters will be Founders’ Series models, going for $250,000.
Being the fastest production car ever, Tesla Roadster costs a fraction of the price of a Bugatti Chiron which is priced at $2,998,000 or roughly 15 times more than the Roadster.
