Samsung Confirms the Launch Date of Galaxy S9, Teases Camera Improvements

This year’s CES ended with many interesting inventions and launches, but we couldn’t find the Samsung Galaxy S9 in it which was in rumors for quite a long time.

Interestingly, Samsung is now pro-active and has released an advert for its Press Event in Barcelona for the release of its most awaited flagship duo, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 plus.

“The Camera. Reimagined”

Before moving on to what could be its major hardware specifications, let’s consider the phrase “The Camera. Reimagined” written over the invitation card. The digit ‘9’ encircles this iconic phrase and that’s the only thing known so far.

What could create a major point of difference between the Galaxy S9 and S9 plus, is the camera setup of both the flagships. Apparently, we’ll be witnessing a single camera lens in Galaxy S9, while the bigger variant, S9 plus will have a dual-camera sensor, if the leaks are accurate.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ Leaked Renders

The technical advancements of Galaxy S9 include a “super slow-mo” video mode shooting in 480 fps @ 1080p. That’s quite a leap considering the cameras of Galaxy S7 and the not-so-old Galaxy S8. Moreover, we are anxious to see the rumored ‘Faster Wireless Charging’ in this 15W fast-charging model.

Expected Features

Samsung hasn’t unveiled the specifications chart yet, but according to the leaks surfacing over the internet for the past few weeks, here are some of the expected features:

  • Bezel-less design
  • An 18.5:9 Infinity displays
  • Fingerprint scanner residing below the primary shooter lens

The upcoming Barcelona event will also announce the opening date for Galaxy S9 duo’s pre-orders. So if you go by dates, those who’ll place the orders on February 26th will receive their package by March 16.
