A new industrial training program has been introduced at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU). The purpose of this course is to help emerging engineers polish their professional skills and provide them with the promotional exposure they need.
It s a one month certificate course that initiated along with the current semester in Spring 2018, according to the Directorate General.
The course has been introduced in collaboration with the Skills Development Council.
This will be a regular monthly program open throughout the year. The program will be conducted by the University’s department of Engineering Technology.
Admissions are open till March 5. Diploma holders are eligible to apply as well.
On the other hand, the University has started another one year post-graduate diploma program called “educational leadership management” (ELM). This will help promote leadership skills in the educational field. The program is specially offered for the career-development of the students.
Students applying for this program need at least 45 percent marks to be eligible.
The program relates to the society’s socio-economic issues that meet the market needs. The Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Shahid Siddiqui has high hopes that these courses will help the students promote their professional skills and motivate them to startup their own businesses.
Apart from these skill-based short courses, 27 new academic programs have been introduced in the past 3 years.
