Aamir Liaquat Joins PTI and the Social Media Reactions are Hilarious

Aamir Liaquat is probably the most controversial personality in the history of Pakistani television. No matter how much you love or abhor him, he has proven quite adaptable with his ever-changing resume of ‘skills’. After all, he has gone from ‘religious’ talk show host to former Minister for Religious Affairs, and from TV anchor to politician.

Even after getting banned countless times – for his behavior on the TV screen – he just can’t seem to stay out of the news. Just recently, Aamir Liaquat was banned from hosting any TV show by PEMRA after being accused of indulging in hate speech. Faced with the prospect of not appearing on the TV screen as a TV anchor, he decided to run his own news website.

After the ban was lifted, he rejoined 24 News as a TV Host.

But now it seems that those days might just be behind him given his latest ‘stunt’. This time, the notorious anchorperson has announced his entry into politics, again.

Yes, you heard that right. In a development that sent shockwaves around Pakistani news channels and social media, Aamir Liaquat has joined Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

While we can’t say with surety for how long he will remain a part of PTI before things fall out, we can take a look at how people reacted to the news on Twitter.

Some PTI supporters were not happy about Aamir Liaquat’s arrival to the party.

This guy used the audio of the crown prince of Rawalpindi to show the reaction to Aamir Liaquat joining the party.

Aakhri Muqaam, we are not so sure about this one.

High five.

The problems start when Aamir Liaquat leaves the party or the TV channel, that’s when the wrath of the fallen begins.

Does he make sense? Needless to say, Aamir Liaquat does have an influence.

We will not explain whats happening here.

“Friendship ended with Farooq Sattar, now Imran Khan is my new best friend”

Aamir Liaquat doesn’t care.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

He will surely be a match.

What do you have to say about the inclusion of Aamir Liaquat in PTI? Have your say in the comments.
