Honda Launches a Cheaper Manual Variant of the BR-V

Honda Pakistan launched the family-focused BR-V around 12 months ago to compete with Pakistan’s mid-range crossover SUV segment and most definitely, out-classed its existing, more expensive rival, the Suzuki Vitara.

Exhibiting a sense of diversity and expansion in the auto industry, Honda has announced a manual variant for the BR-V which is expected to go on sale this month.

Good Old Stick Shift

BR-V has proven to be a great vehicle, in both features and drive but for all those driving enthusiasts out there, it lacked a traditional manual gearbox and failed to be a real “driver’s car”. Honda, in a bid to please more customers, has made a manual-transmission BR-V available which only came with a comfy CVT gearbox previously.

The best part? The manual gearbox is a 6-speed unit and is paired with Honda’s well-known 1500cc SOHC i-VTEC engine. It’s also a good option for people under a budget because the manual variant is cheaper than the CVT one, almost Rs. 130,000 less with every great feature sans CVT gearbox.

Price & Features

Honda BR-V comes with some modern features mostly absent in locally assembled vehicles. Unlike Toyota and Suzuki, Honda has always been known to bring better hardware to Pakistan. Some of the features include,

• Keyless Entry,
• Immobilizer Key,
• ABS,
• Dual Airconditioner,
• SRS Airbags (only driver’s seat),
• Roof Rail etc.

It was previously available in two variants, BR-V i-VTEC and BR-V i-VTEC S – both with CVT transmission – and now Honda has added a third variant to the lineup, the BR-V i-VTEC 6MT. Here’s the updated price list,

• Honda BR-V i-VTEC 6MT: Rs. 20,99,000
• Honda BR-V i-VTEC (CVT): Rs. 22,49,000
• Honda BR-V i-VTEC S (CVT): Rs. 23,49,000
