Asghar Jameel, Chief HR Officer at Jazz, Moves to VEON

Jazz has promoted another Pakistani national to group level at VEON as Asghar Jameel, Chief Human Resource Officer at Jazz, is joining the VEON HR team in Amsterdam as Group Director, HR HQ Functions.

Jameel’s new assignment is yet another validation of the quality of people that Jazz is contributing to the Group.

Previously, Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, was made the head of Emerging markets as he now heads Bangladesh and Algeria in addition to Pakistan. Just past month Aniqa Afzal Sandhu — Chief Digital Officer at Jazz — was appointed the VP Global operations at VEON.

According to details shared with ProPakistani, Asghar Jameel will be reporting to Jacky Simmonds, the Group Chief People Officer.

Not to mention, Ali Mehdi has replaced Asghar Jameel as CHRO at Jazz.

The outgoing CHRO is a seasoned HR professional with a experience around driving people strategies in transformation times. At Jazz, he successfully steered the people integration of the Mobilink-Warid merger into Jazz.

Under his leadership spanning 2 years, Jazz was reborn with an agile grading architecture, a lean and competitive rewards framework, and a strong Leadership Development and Culture Transformation focus enabling a strong foothold for organizational build up.
