Xiaomi owned Huami just unveiled a fitness tracking band, called Amazfit Health Band 1S, that has continuous heart rate tracking and an ECG sensor.
The brand is known to make budget-friendly watches, with premium features and long-lasting durability. It is also known for making the Xiaomi Mi Band series.
The new Amazfit Health Band 1S was launched alongside the Amazfit Verge smartwatch at an event. The watch is last year’s Amazfit Health Band’s successor and comes with significant improvements.
Design & Display
The design is the same as the predecessor, with a similar rectangular display and a minimal material finish. However, the main improvements have been made internally. It has an IP67 dust and water resistance rating, and the body weighs only 10g.
It has an OLED display that measures 0.45-inch. The strap has been made form a skin-friendly thermoplastic elastomer material. It also has an anti-lost buckle.
Just like last time, the new Amazfit Health Band 1S is going to come with an ECG sensor that tracks your data and presents it on a connected display or its own screen. The sensors have been improved even further, Huami says that its new generation of optical sensors has 98% accuracy and 80% lesser power consumption.
Moreover, the band has its own neural network to ensure consistent monitoring instead of a passive one. Aside from the typical features, the band has its own photoelectric sensor that keeps a check on your heart rate and sleep patterns. There’s also a low-energy Bluetooth unit to connect to other devices.
Price, Battery, & Availability
The smart band houses a tiny, but efficient 95mAh battery pack. It can be charged to 100% in just 2.5 hours and lasts up to 7 days per charge.
Amazfit Health Band 1S is already available for purchase for 699 Yuan or $100 through major retailers within China.
