Islamabad Police has come up with an interesting way to encourage motorists into following traffic rules.
They have started a Good Citizen Patrol Unit that is aimed at appreciating law-abiding citizens of the capital city. To encourage good driving habits, they have started awarding good drivers with a ‘good citizen sticker’ along with coffee mugs and other gifts.
Under this initiative, the police have dedicated a unit that patrols the roads of the capital on a daily basis. It takes into account the cars that are observing the proper laws.
Whenever the police observes a person who is abiding by the traffic rules, it stops them and thanks them on the spot for being a ‘good citizen’.
It further gives citizens a special ‘good citizen’ sticker to paste it on their car windshield along with the coffee mugs and other gifts.
This is an interesting initiative to acknowledge law-abiding citizens while encouraging the others to do the same.
