Huawei’s recent flagship smartphones have been nothing short of impressive. The P20 Pro had an amazing camera and the Mate 20 followed it up with some amazing specifications and design as well.
There’s no doubt that the focus of P series has always been on the camera, and Huawei aims to improve it every single year. This year won’t be an exception, and if the leaks are true, they have got something amazing up their sleeves this time.
Huawei P30 Spec Leaks
Two models are expected to launch this year at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February, the P30 and P30 Pro. Talking about the camera, the P30 series is rumored to use Sony’s new six-series 38 MP IMX607 sensor that comes with a sensor of size 1/1.8″.
The regular P30 will come with a triple camera setup whereas the P30 Pro might use a quad camera setup this time, with a focus on optical zoom. Last year’s P20 Pro was able to achieve 3x optical zoom and this year the P30 Pro is rumored to have at least 5x optical zoom. This would allow you to easily zoom into subjects without having to lose any detail.
Moreover, the P30 series will have OLED displays for both models. This is because both will be coming with under-display fingerprint scanners and they can only be added when an OLED panel is used. The P30 will have a 6.1-inch screen whereas the P30 Pro will have a huge 6.5-inch screen.
The non-Pro model will also see a notch this time around, albeit a waterdrop notch, which is less intrusive. What’s more exciting is the news that the 3.5mm headphone jack will see its return on both models as well.
As far as performance is concerned, powering both these devices will be a HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor but the P30 will come with 8GB of RAM and the P30 Pro will come with 12GB of RAM.
Is that much RAM required in smartphones and does it really have any advantages? We’ll have to wait until the launch event to find out.
