Punjab government has decided to provide remuneration for families of contract employees in case of the employee’s death while at work.
The decision has come in a meeting of the provincial cabinet’s Standing Committee on Finance and Development with Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in the chair.

The government will provide remuneration for families of all such contract workers starting from scale 1. The remuneration provided by the state to the families of contract employees of scale 1-4 will be Rs. 1.6 million.

For employees in scale 5-10, the remuneration to the family will be Rs. 1.9 million. For scale 11-15 employees, the family will be awarded R. 2.2 million.
Whereas remuneration worth Rs. 2.5 million, Rs. 3.4 million, and Rs. 4 million will be awarded to the families of contract employees of scale 16-17, 18-19, and 20 onwards on the employee’s death at work.
