Just Like Realme’s Name, Its Next Flagship Might be ‘Inspired’ by Redmi X

Oppo’s sub-brand Realme has been on a winning streak lately. Recently Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro were released in India for an affordable price tag and decent specs. And today, we have new info about their upcoming flagship, the Realme X.

The phone was previously teased with a model number RMX1901 with no info on what the device was called. But after an official post on Weibo by Realme’s CMO Xu Qi Chase, we have confirmation that the phone is going to be called Realme X.

Design and Display

The Realme X, as the company claims, is going to be a “full screen” phone with no bezels and no notch. The phone is fairly large with a 6.5-inch FullHD+ display but despite the thick chin at the bottom, it still has a high screen to body ratio nonetheless.

It has curved edges all around, a gradient finish on the back alongside a dual rear camera setup. There’s no fingerprint sensor to be seen anywhere on the phone so it is likely that the Realme X is going to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.

There’s no word on what color schemes the phone will come with but from the leaked images we at least know there’s going to be a blue variant.

Other rumored specifications

While there are no details on the internal specifications or the camera, we do know that the phone is going to bring a mediocre sized battery of 3680mAh. Nothing can be said about how long the battery is going to last just yet, but it won’t be setting any records. Other than the battery and display, we do know that there is a 3.5mm audio jack at the top.

The Realme X is expected to go on sale sometime later next month. We will update the post as soon as further details are revealed.

Realme X Pro Leaks

Alongside Realme X, there are rumors floating around about a likely sibling of the phone. Judging from the name, the Realme X Pro is likely going to be the superior variant of the Realme X and is expected to rival Redmi’s SD855 flagship.

As expected from a flagship rival, the Realme X Pro is speculated to be the cheapest SD855 smartphone in the market. Rumors also say that the phone is going to have two different variants, housing 6GB and 8GB of RAM. The expected pricing of the two variants is $340 and $386 respectively, definitely some tough competition for Xiaomi.
