Askari Bank and Avanza Premier Payment Services (APPS) have signed an agreement under which Askari Bank’s customers can make e-commerce transactions through Payfast (APPS’ payment gateway) using their bank accounts.
Payfast is an ecosystem of merchants that includes schools, billers, mutual funds, marketplaces, and other entities for enabling e-commerce payments.
Mr. Adnan Ali, CEO – APPS, said,
Payfast will be the catalyst towards achieving our vision of mainstreaming digital payments in Pakistan. UnionPay international also shares our vision, by virtue of which we are their TPSP for mobile payments to enable member banks to offer QR and HCE based transactions. Our partnership with Askari Bank is a strategic move towards achieving our goal to make Pakistan go cashless.
