FIA Arrests Two in Facebook Harassment Cases

The Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has arrested a man allegedly involved in child pornography.

Assistant Director of Cyber Crime Wing, Haseeb Javed informed media that they have arrested a youngster from Talash, Lower Dir. He was accused of blackmailing minors by uploading their explicit photos on social media.

The man named Mustafa was arrested on Thursday and the photos he uploaded were reportedly photoshopped.

“We have registered an FIR at FIA Cyber Crime Circle Peshawar against the accused and have started the interrogation,” AD Cyber Crime Wing added.

Meanwhile, another alleged harasser was arrested in a raid in Peshawar’s Gulbahar area.

Identified as Fahad Manzoor, he was taken in for harassing a woman on Facebook by using a fake account.

The FIA official said that after receiving the complaint against him, they tracked him down through a landline number linked to his internet connection.

According to Haseeb, his department has received a total of 200 complaints since January; 30 of which had been cleared while 170 were under process.
