Telenor Pakistan and its network partners have geared up to make the network 5G ready, said a statement issued by the company moments ago.
5G is the fifth-generation cellular network technology that offers faster data transfer speeds and enables advanced solutions such as smart homes, smart cities, autonomous driving, automated emergency services, remote medical diagnosis, smart manufacturing, cloud gaming and enhanced content & media experiences to name a few.
“The development cements and once again demonstrates Telenor Pakistan’s position as the frontrunner of innovation and digital transformation in the country”, read the press statement.
“Today, the company has the country’s first and only 4.5G network and takes the lead with such industry-first initiatives as IoT, Cloud Services, and overall digital ecosystem development comprising innovative solutions for gaming, entertainment, and 3G/4G devices portfolio, etc”, it claimed.
Telenor Pakistan took the first step towards 5G enablement last year by beginning the evolution of its network core from legacy architecture to state-of-the-art virtualized hybrid core, taking the lead towards 5G readiness. The latest development takes Telenor Pakistan one step closer to successful launch of end-to-end 5G trials to demonstrate the potential of futuristic technologies and solutions for socioeconomic advancement.
“As Pakistan gears up for future technologies that will be integrated into governance, businesses and people’s lives, the role of 5G becomes imperative,” said Irfan Wahab Khan, Chief Executive Officer Telenor Pakistan and Head of Telenor Emerging Asia Cluster, while sharing his thoughts on the development.

Jese 4.5G hai sirf hawaow mein kisi ko 4.5G k signal nahi milte bilkul ase hi telenor na nazar aane wala 5G b 2 3 mahaniyou tak aara hai.
Considering how pathetic their 4G is, you can imagine how bad this will be.
They have the worst 4g speeds of any network in Pakistan. Even Ufone, which doesn’t have 4g is faster on 3g than telenor’s so called 4.5. Telenor is only surviving because of their relatively cheaper packages
Ufone has 4g in Lahore and i think in Islamabad and Pindi too. You can check the area coverage of Ufone 4g on their site.
In my experience, Telenor is better than Jazz & Zong at the moment, as opposed to what the recent PTA survey suggests

Bringing 5G readiness is different from bringing 5G . Your headline is misleading .

I guess it means they are bringing it soon. wowww looks great.
They should focus on improving their 4G services which at the moment are better in my opinion as compared to others in my opinin and less expensive but bringing 5G when there is no 5G phone available in our market for public. Then good luck and not to mention the price of 5G!!???
