Ministry of Tourism, Sports, Youth, Culture and Archeology Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a special tourism corridor connecting Kalam to Dir in line with the government’s vision of promoting tourism in the country.
The corridor will be developed with the help of the World Bank, APP reported.
The 114-kilometer long corridor will have 8 prominent resorts along the way. The tourist spots and valleys along the route include Kalam, Anakar valley, Utrore, Gabral, Kumrat, Jahaz Banda, Sheringal and Dir.
A 100km road link will start from Kalam and end at Dir. Another 14-km link will connect Kumrat and Jahaz Banda for easy accessibility to the scenic valley.
Currently, the roads between these spots are in poor condition, however, the new corridor will change the landscape of tourism in the region.
A large number of people don’t prefer to travel to such places mainly because of the road conditions, however, developing road infrastructure will increase the influx of tourists, especially families.

Why don’t they Focus on Direct Route to Kumrat, ( Jahaz Banda, kala chashma, Shiringal etc) through chakdara-> Dir Lower -> Dir Upper -> Kumrat… the shortest and good condition road, only need a little maintenance and extension in just 20-30 KM, even you can reach to Thal, Kumrat through VXR, Alto, Vitz and bike… Why going through Kalam reaching to Kumrat through the worst mountaineous and dangerous Road where you will feel like watching a wrong turn movie and no local people and villages around while driving in mountains and jungle…!!
This article may be helpful for reaching Kumrat and guiding you to Kumrat.

You got it wrong bro. The news say it will connect dir to kalam. So this means every one will have choice to use either road from timergara or from mingora. The road from mingora to kalam is almost ready. While the road from chakdara to dir upper is also good. So they plan to connect both rouds. Which sounds fantastic. If you understand
This is great move but the forests are being depleted by timber mafia.
One should promte ecotouism and have framework, strategy and guidelines in place including strong penalties against illegal tree felling and of course littering and draining effluents and garbage into rivers and streams
