Taking a Look at Vivo S1 With 4GB RAM [Unboxing & First Impressions]

The Vivo S1 is a design-oriented smartphone with a triple-lens primary camera, Super AMOLED display, in-display fingerprint sensor and 128GB of storage. Its 6GB variant originally arrived in Pakistan at a price point of Rs 50,000. It has now returned with 4GB of RAM, but also a much more affordable price tag.

You can now grab a Vivo S1 for only Rs 36,000, with all the features and specifications you had on the original variant. The only difference is that it now has 4GB of RAM.

What’s in the Box?

The box includes an envelope which contains a transparent silicon case with the usual paperwork. You also get a SIM ejection tool and an 18W fast charger with a micro USB cable. Vivo has included a pair of earbuds as well with their brand name on it.

Design and Build

The 6.38-inch 1080p display looks gorgeous and being an AMOLED, it has great contrast as well. An in-display fingerprint sensor is a rare feature in this price range and Vivo has got it just right. Fingerprint unlocking is fast and so is the Face Unlock. The top of the display holds a waterdrop notch housing a 32MP selfie camera.

The left side holds an assistant button and the microSD/SIM card slot. The power and volume buttons are on the right side and the bottom is lined up with a micro USB port, speaker grille, primary microphone, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The color of our review unit is called Skyline Blue. It has a gradient design that reflects light at different angles. The camera setup consists of a 16MP main lens, 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP telephoto lens.

User Interface

Vivo S1 brings you the heavily customized Funtouch OS based on Android 9 Pie. One of its highlight features is that you can access the notifications and quick settings panel through the bottom of the screen, so you don’t have to reach to the top of the tall display.

App switching and opening speeds are reliably fast and there is no visible lag, even if several apps are running.
