Shoaib Akhtar Identifies Indian Fast Bowler Who Can Become the “King of Reverse Swing”

Rawalpindi Express, Shoaib Akhtarm has revealed that Indian pacer, Mohammad Shami called him after his team’s exit from the World Cup, asking for advice on how to improve his game.

After India’s World Cup disappointment, Shami called me up and said he was feeling sad that he could not do well for India. I told him not to lose heart but to maintain his fitness.

The fastest bowler of all-time added that Mohammad Shami can become the king of reverse swing.

I told him that I want him to become an out and out fast bowler. He has reverse swing, which is a luxury in the sub-continent; I told him you can become king of reverse swing.

Akhtar revealed this in a video on his YouTube channel. Moreover, he expressed his disappointment over Pakistani bowlers, saying that they do not seek advice from the seniors.

Bowlers from across the border are gaining from the wisdom of former Pakistan greats, whereas Pakistanis are not doing that, which is a “sad scenario as far as my country is concerned”.

Akhtar talked about his discussion with the Indian fast bowler after he took an impressive five-for in the 4th innings against South Africa on a flat Visakhapatnam wicket to hand his team a victory over the away side.
