Survey Reveals the Favorite Dishes of Pakistanis

Recently, Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International Association, carried out a social survey asking Pakistanis about their favorite dish.

The survey revealed that about 47% of Pakistanis claim Biryani to be their favorite dish. About 14% of Pakistanis have Pulao as their favorite dish. Around 11% Pakistanis enjoy eating Payee while 9% like Karahi. Nearly 6% of Pakistanis prefer to eat Haleem. Nihari is the choice of merely 3% of Pakistanis.

As per the survey, 8% of Pakistanis have a favorite dish other than the dishes mentioned above. Approximately 2% Pakistanis said they have no favorite dish.

According to the survey, 57% of Pakistani women claim Biryani to be their favorite dish while 47% of Pakistani men like to eat Biryani.

Biryani is the most popular dish in Sindh. 60% of Sindhis enjoy eating Biryani. About 48% of people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) prefer to eat Biryani. 43% of the population in Punjab claims Biryani to be their favorite dish. Biryani is the choice of nearly 28% of people in Balochistan.

According to another survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan, 44% Pakistanis like to eat Roti for breakfast. About 38% of Pakistanis eat Paratha for breakfast. Bread is eaten by 6% of Pakistanis while 4 % of Pakistanis like to eat Rusk for Breakfast. Halwa Puri is the choice of merely 1% of the Pakistani population.
