Kuwait to Simplify Visa Process for Pakistanis

Consul General of Kuwait, Salem Yousif Al-Hamdan, has said that Kuwait wants to streamline the process of issuance of business visas to Pakistani nationals.

While addressing a group of businessmen at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Al-Hamdan urged interior ministries of both, Kuwait and Pakistan, to discuss the details of streamlining the issuance of business visas.

Kuwait has a rigid visa policy because people from about 120 countries are living in the country, said Al-Hamdan.

Kuwaiti envoy acknowledged the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and said that the project will not only be beneficial for Pakistan but the entire region can reap its benefits.

In a bid to attract Kuwaiti investors and businessmen in Balochistan, Al-Hamdan suggested that the Balochistan government should organize a CPEC conference. Al-Hamdan added that his country will provide necessary assistance in organizing the conference and ensure the participation of not just Kuwaiti investors but businessmen from the entire Gulf region.

The CPEC conference would play a key part in raising awareness about the importance of CPEC and highlighting potential investment opportunities in Pakistan.

Consul General recapitulated some of the most important MoUs signed between Kuwait and Pakistan. In the coming days, representatives of the Kuwait Investment Authority will visit Pakistan to explore more investment opportunities.

Kuwait Investment Authority will particularly explore trade and investment opportunities in Karachi because its two ports hold immense investment potential.

Salem Yousif Al-Hamdan underscored strong bilateral ties between Kuwait and Pakistan. Al-Hamdan said that Pakistan exported goods worth $339.47 million to Kuwait in the past two years.
