Shanza Munir, an IT student at Government College University Faisalabad, has developed smart shoes for the visually impaired.
The shoes, developed as a part of her university project, can detect hurdles within a 200 cm radius and notify the wearer with vibration and sound in real-time.

Although the shoes are expensive, a pair costs between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000, the cost can be reduced if manufactured on a large scale.
Earlier this month, a Pakistani girl made it to LEXUS Design Award 2020 for her design of a sewing machine for the blind. The machine allows those deprived of sight to sew clothes easily.
