Govt Launches Web Portal for Pakistanis Stuck Abroad

In a bid to help the Pakistanis stranded abroad, the government has established a web portal; which they can use to see flight information. This can be found on covid.gov.pk and going to the air travel section of the site.

Initially, the website was created by the government to keep the people in the loop about the virus as well as keep them updated about the number of cases and fatalities across Pakistan. The site has a counter that is updated from time to time throughout the day.

The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Security and Strategic Policy Planning, Dr. Moeed Yusaf said the portal hosts information regarding the current policies, how the quarantine works, criteria regarding stranded passengers and planned flights.

The government aims to bring back Pakistanis stuck abroad soon. Thousands of Pakistanis have been stuck abroad after Pakistan halted its flight operations in a move to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

Pakistan is under lockdown till at least 30th April and flight operations are also penciled to resume from April 30.
