Here Are the World’s Top 10 Airports for 2020 [Images]

Skytrax, a UK based consultancy firm that manages an airline and airport review and ranking site, has announced the rankings for the World’s Top 10 Airports of 2020 and Asian airports have once again maintained their hegemony from the past years.

8 out of the top 10 airports are based in Asia as Singapore Changi Airport has claimed the top spot on the list for the 8th consecutive year.

Skytrax’s global airport rating system is the most widely acknowledged benchmarking system that classifies airports by the quality of airport product facilities and staff service standards.

According to Skytrax, thousands of customers from more than 100 different countries had voted for the rankings of the World’s Top 10 Airports of 2020. The voting was conducted online from September 2019 to February 2020.

The official award ceremony was originally scheduled to take place on 1 April at Passenger Terminal Expo in Paris. However, Skytrax was forced to cancel the ceremony due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Instead, Skytrax announced the rankings for this year’s Top 10 Airports in a recent YouTube live video.

In an official statement, CEO Skytrax, Edward Plaisted, said:

Having deferred the award announcements for nearly six weeks, we felt it was now right to try and bring some cheer into the airport industry in these difficult times.

So, here are the world’s top 10 airports for 2020.

  1. Singapore Changi Airport
  2. Tokyo Haneda Airport
  3. Hamad International Airport (Doha, Qatar)
  4. Incheon International Airport (South Korea)
  5. Munich International Airport (Germany)
  6. Hong Kong International Airport
  7. Narita International Airport (Tokyo)
  8. Chūbu Centrair International Airport (Nagoya, Japan)
  9. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport
  10. Kansai International Airport (Osaka, Japan)

    • Fun fact:
“New Islamabad Airport is not in Islamabad. It is in Fatehjang Punjab”. New Airport is no longer in the federal territory or Capital Territory.
I don’t know why we are calling it a new Islamabad Airport. We can call it Fatehjang or Attock or Pindi Airport.

      • Islamabad is expanding. The Fatehjang side of Islamabad is now called “New Islamabad”.

  • Been there in Schiphol. Abu Dahbi Airport is far better than this with many aspects, building interior, space, facilities, check ups. So this report is biased.
