Shan A Ashary has been appointed as the new chairman of the board of directors at K-Electric.
He has replaced Riyadh S A Edrees who decided to step down from the position of the Chairman and board member of K-Electric due to his personal engagements and inability to perform in Karachi due to the COVID-19 situation.
Last year, Ikram Sehgal also stepped down from the chairmanship of K-Electric on personal grounds. The Supreme Court of Pakistan also advised the government to put the name of CEO K-Electric on ECL.
About the New Chairman
Ashary has been on the Board of Directors of the company since 2005 and represents the KES Power stake in KE and is the longest-serving member of the board. As the new chairman, his focus will be on operational excellence of the company across its generation, transmission and distribution functions to ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted power supply to the KE customers.
The board of directors is confident that Ashary, with his proven track record of accomplishments, will bring a wealth of knowledge and valuable experience to the position.
