Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) has decided to purchase possible Coronavirus vaccines from around the world in advance.
In this regard, NHS has written a letter to Prime Minister, Imran Khan, regarding the ongoing Coronavirus situation, seeking permission and funds from the government to proceed with the decision.

According to the letter, NHS has recommended procuring potential COVID-19 vaccines that are at the final stage of clinical trials around the world.
It has also sought $100 million from the government for making advance bookings for the potential vaccines.
NHS also apprised the premier that many countries have started advance booking for the Coronavirus vaccines that are slated to be introduced during the first half of 2021.

It has also contacted GAVI, an international organization to ensure access to new vaccines for vulnerable populations around the world, for acquiring the potential COVID-19 vaccines.
According to NHS sources, Pakistan will receive Coronavirus vaccines through GAVI in the second half of 2021. Elderly citizens and frontline healthcare workers will be vaccinated first after procuring the vaccines.
