Former wicket-keeper, Rashid Latif, has claimed that head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and captain Babar Azam will be removed from the respective positions before the next World Cup. Latif has said that the added pressure of the captaincy in all formats will affect the batting performances of Babar Azam and may lead to his downfall.

Latif was hopeful and extended his support for the Pakistan national team for their tour of New Zealand. He said that Pakistan should go in with the mindset of winning both the Test and T20I series, but remained unsure about the future of Misbah and Babar.
He claimed that Azhar Ali’s spot in the side is a little shaky while Asad Shafiq is out of the team. It seems like there will be a different coach for the upcoming World Cup. It doesn’t seem like the captain will be retained for more than six months either, he speculated.

Latif added that Babar Azam is one of the best players in the world and certainly the backbone of the national side, but PCB has not done him any favors by handing him the captaincy in all three formats. This may lead to his ‘destruction’ as a batsman.
He said that the future of Pakistan cricket looks gloomy as the PCB is making decisions in a haste. He added that the team announced for Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand is not a team, rather a family as they have selected people based on personal likeness.
If Babar is a fighter, he’ll never be affected by his captaincy. It should boost his morale even more.

Hafeez was a parchi player initially, Sarfraz let go of his fitness and had poor batting form. Azhar had no experience of captaincy and his body language was always humble. Cannot generalise, also keep in Mind players who blossomed with a pata inch, IMRAN KHAN, JAVED MIANDAD, Inzamam etc….
Misbah gives us more depression than cricket.
He gave you more wins as well. Depression is an individual feeling. All cricket is not played the T20 way.
At this rate Misbah will be replaced before the next world cup and PCB will make Babar Azam our new head coach, chief selector and batting coach 😂

It is not sure that he will lose his form because these people also said the same for Virat Kohli but he is still in his form and captaincy didn’t affect his batting. So we should remain positive and support our Captain ❤️
Absolutely sir. Most of the players are of Misbah’s choice not according to the criteria especially in T20 there is no such player who can actually play according to requirements. Although youngsters are good but in NZ we must need few experienced players otherwise we can’t win even one game
Hasty decision by PCB to appointment Babar Azam as a captain of the Pakistan cricket team. Ehasan Mani and Waseem Khan is ignorant about Pakistan cricket. They have destroyed the structure of our domestic cricket.
