Nokia to Launch a New Smartphone on 15th December

Nokia 9 PureView’s successor, the Nokia 9.3 PureView, has been in the works for as long as a year now. The smartphone was set to go official months ago, but a recent leak suggests that the smartphone has been delayed once again and will be unveiled somewhere in Q1 2021. Other than this, the company is also working on a mid-range smartphone dubbed the Nokia 5.4, according to reports.

Nokia is announcing a new Android Go smartphone on December 15

Amidst all these delayed smartphones, the company recently announced that it is going to launch a budget-friendly phone that runs Android Go in China. According to the Weibo post by Nokia’s official account, the smartphone will be announced on 15th December. Nevertheless, with its shaky and unreliable launches over the past few years, we don’t know what to expect from the smartphone maker.

If the smartphone makes it, it will be the first handset with the lightweight OS version in China. Currently, the cheapest Nokia phones available in China are the Nokia 3.1 Plus and the Nokia C3, both running the regular Android 10.

Since applications like Gmail Go, Maps Go, Google Assistant Go don’t work in China, we believe HMD Global has found an alternative to all these applications. For those who don’t know, Android Go is stacked with lite apps. The company has not revealed fine details yet.
