Xiaomi’s Mi portable wireless mouse was a fan-favorite when it comes to computer peripherals. Today, the company has announced its successor that is up for crowdfunding on Xiaomi Youpin platform.
The new Mi portable mouse comes with amped-up internals which include support for dual-mode connection and low energy Bluetooth.

Design and Construction
Aesthetically, the mouse looks a lot like its predecessor, but this time, it comes in two color variants: Greyish Silver and Black. Moreover, at the back, the Mi wireless mouse 2 features a DPI switch which, according to the company, is 4-way adjustable.
On the top, there is a similar circular layout for the mouse-click buttons and an additional button for the dual-mode switch. Apart from this, the mouse has the usual Left, Right Click buttons and a two-way scroll wheel. The outer body of the mouse is built using Anodized Aluminum Alloy through Xiaomi’s proprietary sandblasting process.

Internals
As mentioned, the mouse comes with support for dual-connectivity. Using the button on top, it can easily switch between the two screens. Users can connect the mouse through 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and via Bluetooth 4.2. The Bluetooth energy is provided by the Telink Low-Energy Bluetooth chip to conserve battery. The mouse runs on a single AA battery which, according to the company, will last almost a year.
Pricing and Availability
The mouse is currently being crowdfunded for $12 and shipments will start on 13th January.
