PSQCA Develops Plan for Licensing of 61 New Products

The Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) has developed a comprehensive roadmap for the licensing of 61 new products that were recently inducted into its mandatory list by the federal government.

Special teams have been formed to serve notices to the units producing these 61 new items, and if a unit does not submit its application for a license within the prescribed deadline, the teams will seize its stock and halt its productions.

According to the PSQCA Director General (DG), Abdul Aleem Memon, action will now be taken against the manufacturers of unlicensed items as the application deadline of 31 December 2020 has expired.

The PSQCA’s mandatory list includes tires, rims, faucets, sound systems, microwave ovens, air conditioners, television, juicers, UPSs, coffee, aluminum products, electric switches, and sockets among other items.

Memon has guaranteed the supply of licensed standard items and said that the inclusion of new items will aid the provision of quality products to the consumers.
