President Alvi Takes Notice of Online Bank Fraud in Lahore

President Arif Alvi has taken notice of the online banking fraud in Lahore in which over a dozen account holders were deprived of millions of rupees.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when 16 clients of a private bank complained of a mysterious transfer of millions of rupees from their accounts. The bank had allegedly refused to compensate the amount.

Taking notice of the matter, President Alvi directed the victims to petition the bank for the return of the money. He also asked the victims to approach the ombudsperson if the bank does not investigate the case. If justice is still not served, they can appeal to the president.

Although it is not common for the president to take notice of relatively small matters like this, it is within his power to do so.

When approached for a comment, the bank manager refused to speak to the media and avoided questions about the incident, but a source within the bank has suggested that it was caused by hacking.
