A young student lost his life after being run over by a train while filming a video for the popular video-sharing platform TikTok on a railway track.
The 19-year-old TikToker called Saim was a resident of Dijikot and a student at the Government Post Graduate Science College in the Samanabad area of Faisalabad.

Police and rescue workers rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident and shifted the body to the Government General Hospital Samanabad to fulfill the legal protocols.
The police have now handed Saim’s body over to his kin after taking necessary actions.

Similar incidents have occurred in the past in which several local youngsters either lost their lives or were injured while making Tik Tok videos. Last year, a teenager from the Sikh community was hit by a train from the back while making a TikTok video on a train track.
Until the railways are fenced within the populated areas, these incidents are bound to happen. It is high time that Pakistan Railways launches project to fence its right of ways along the tracks in city limits. SCP must take notice if it holds any regard for the lives of Pakistani people.
Siam was an adult and should have known better. Even if the tracks are fenced he could have climbed over. The fault squarely lies with him and cost him his life.
