Xiaomi has introduced its futuristic Mi Air Charge system that allows users to wirelessly charge devices even from a distance. According to Xiaomi this remote charging system can charge multiple devices simultaneously and will even recharge a smartphone in use of a person walking around with it or if there is a small barrier in between the charger and the device.

The wireless charging transmitter, as detailed by the latest blog from the company, is quite big. Perhaps as large as a sofa side table. Moreover, for now, it can only provide a 5W wireless charging and can charge multiple devices in a radius of few meters.
According to Xiaomi,
Xiaomi’s self-developed isolated charging pile has five phase interference antennas built-in, which can accurately detect the location of the smartphone. A phase control array composed of 14 antennas transmits millimeter-wide waves directly to the phone through beamforming.
In addition to this, the system is different than the Qi charging standard that we have usually seen in smartphones. For this system, the smartphones have to be equipped with a “miniaturized antenna array with built-in ‘beacon antenna’ and ‘receiving antenna array’. A compatible smartphone has a total of 14 antennas to convert a millimeter-wave signal that’s emitted by the charging pile. The signal is converted into electric energy through a rectifier circuit.
Xiaomi is working on making the Mi Air charge compatible with smartwatches, fitness bands, and other wearables as well.
Soon our living room devices, including speakers, desk lamps, and other small smart home products, will all be built upon a wireless power supply design, completely free of wires, making our living rooms truly wireless.
I know how Xiaomi exactly did. It is called electromagnetic flux charge or Electric flux charge i.e just like transformer. But these electromagnetic field will also interact with other electronic devices as well and can cause damage some of them but because it is too weak to disturb electric field surrounded by every electrical device, i can imagine how they produced and achieved that goal. But these electromagnetic fields heavily effect on human brains as well we should also think about it as well.

I was thinking the same. Considering the fact that the latest iphones have been deemed harmful for pacemakers due to their wireless charging technology and can cause the pacemakers to stop according to a latest study.
Its not the wireless technology that’s affecting but the strong magnets they have installed for coupling, wireless charging has been around for many years now. If it was harmful it won’t repeat in billions of devices already manufactured.
