Central Punjab was left disappointed as they failed to deliver on the big day, unlike their amazing comeback in the final of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy when both the teams shared the title. Half-centuries from opener Tayyab Tahir and all-rounder Qasim Akram were the saving grace as they put on a slightly respectable total, which looked highly unlikely at one point.
The tournament saw some exciting cricket and some brilliant individual performances with Tayyab Tahir’s flawless opening batting to Hammad Azam’s exceptional all-round performances. The domestic cricket in Pakistan is well and truly alive.
